As you’ve probably noticed, Seattle Music & Blog has been tapering off in its coverage of the music you love. Though music and art will always be our passion, the SMB staff have for the time being decided to go on hiatus while we focus on other endeavors. In such a vibrant creative community like the Pacific Northwest, I’m sure you will have little trouble finding other outlets to keep you up to speed on the latest happenings, but we would like to thank you, our audience, friends and family for all your support over the years

KEXP to Broadcast Live from Sasquatch!

EXP is teaming up with NPR Music for a live broadcast from the Sasquatch Festival over Memorial Day Weekend. We are broadcasting live from the main stage and featuring performances from all four stages throughout the weekend.

Also stay tuned for SMB coverage of the northwest’s best festival!

Video: Yellow Ostrich – Whale (Live on KEXP)

So SMB first posted about Yellow Ostrich quite some time ago and their catchy song Whale has been in our playlist ever since. After several iterations it seems the boys have finally nailed this one into a killer live performance too that they shared at KEXP while they were in town last March. Preview: Cut Copy at Showbox SODO

Melbourne band Cut Copy stops in Seattle next Tuesday 4/12 in support of their latest release Zonoscope. The record follows their 2008 release In Ghost Colours which made SMB’s as well as several other album of the decade lists.
